Ruta angustifolia prefers well-draining soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy to prevent waterlogged conditions.

Prune in spring to shape the plant and remove any winter damage. Cut back by about one-third to encourage bushier growth and prevent legginess.

Deadhead spent flowers throughout the growing season to promote continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding if not desired.

Easily propagated from seeds sown in spring, or from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Seeds may require stratification. Cuttings should be placed in well-draining potting mix and kept moist until rooted.
