Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowering and maintain a tidy appearance. In late autumn or early spring, cut back dead or overgrown stems to the ground.

Propagate by division in spring or autumn. Carefully lift the plant and divide the root ball into smaller sections, each with healthy roots and shoots. Replant immediately into well-draining soil.
