Water consistently when the top 2-3 cm of soil is dry. Avoid waterlogging, as Kunzea axillaris prefers well-drained conditions. Reduce watering during winter dormancy to prevent root rot.

Prune lightly after flowering to shape the plant and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead or damaged branches at any time. Avoid heavy pruning, as it can stress the plant.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or by sowing fresh seed in autumn. Seed germination may be erratic. Cuttings often root best in a well-draining, sandy mix.

Repot young plants annually or as needed in spring, when they become root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix, ideally with sand or grit. Mature plants generally prefer to be left undisturbed.
