Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a common cause of root rot.

Reduce watering significantly during the cooler, dormant winter months to prevent waterlogged conditions.

Prune to maintain shape or to remove any dead or damaged stems. Use clean, sharp secateurs. Pruning can also be done to encourage bushier growth. Do this in spring or early summer before the main growth period.

Propagate by stem cuttings. Allow cuttings to callus over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil. Roots will form readily in warm conditions with bright light and minimal water.

Repot only when the plant is severely root-bound, typically every 2-3 years. Use a gritty, well-draining potting mix specifically formulated for succulents. Repot in spring, just before the active growing season begins.
