Carolina Mosquitofern thrives in consistently moist conditions, often floating on the surface of still water. Ensure the pot is submerged or the substrate remains waterlogged.

Avoid letting the water level drop, as this can cause the fronds to dry out and turn brown.

Pruning is generally not necessary for Azolla caroliniana as it naturally spreads and can be easily thinned out. If it becomes overly dense and shades out other aquatic plants, or if you wish to control its spread, simply scoop out excess growth with a net or your hands.

Propagation is extremely easy and occurs through fragmentation. The plant reproduces rapidly by budding and branching.

Simply allow the plant to grow; new plantlets will continuously form and detach, creating new colonies. You can also manually divide larger clumps.

Repotting is not applicable for Azolla caroliniana in the traditional sense as it is an aquatic floating fern. It does not have conventional roots that require potting medium.

If grown in a contained aquatic system, manage its density by removing excess material.
