Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a common cause of root rot. In winter, reduce watering significantly to almost none, mimicking its dormant period.

Ensure the pot has excellent drainage to prevent waterlogging, which is detrimental to this succulent.

Pruning is generally minimal for Uncarina grandidieri. Remove any dead or damaged stems to maintain plant health and shape. Pruning can also be done to control its size and encourage bushier growth if desired.

Do this during the active growing season.

Propagate through seeds or stem cuttings. Seeds require warm temperatures and good drainage to germinate.

Stem cuttings should be taken from healthy growth, allowed to callus for a few days, and then planted in well-draining soil. Patience is key for successful propagation.

Repot every 2-3 years in spring, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a gritty, well-draining potting mix, similar to that used for cacti and succulents.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one, as these plants prefer to be somewhat snug.
