Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Water regularly during the growing season, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Reduce watering in autumn and winter, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot, especially in cooler conditions.
Cut back dead or faded foliage in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Remove any damaged or diseased stems as needed.
This tidy-up promotes vigorous new growth and maintains the plant's attractive form.
Propagate by division in early spring. Carefully divide established clumps, ensuring each section has roots and shoots. Replant the divisions immediately into well-draining soil.
Water well after planting to help them establish.
Repot container-grown plants every 2-3 years or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one to allow for continued root growth. Repot in spring.
