Nepeta agrestis prefers consistently moist soil during its growth phase, but avoid waterlogging. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings once established.

Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy to prevent root rot. Ensure good drainage to maintain healthy roots.

Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. In late autumn or early spring, prune back the entire plant by about one-third to one-half its size.

This encourages bushier growth and prevents the plant from becoming too leggy and sprawling.

Nepeta agrestis can be easily propagated from seed sown in spring, either directly outdoors or in a greenhouse. It also readily propagates from stem cuttings taken in late spring or early summer.
