Water Nepeta X regularly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Ensure good drainage to prevent waterlogged conditions, especially during cooler months.

Reduce watering frequency in winter.

Prune Nepeta X back by about one-third to one-half after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second bloom and maintain a tidy shape. Cut back hard in late autumn or early spring to remove dead or faded growth and promote vigorous new shoots.

Nepeta X is easily propagated from stem cuttings taken in late spring or early summer. Insert cuttings into moist, well-draining potting mix. Alternatively, it can be divided in early spring or autumn.

Seed propagation is also possible but may not result in true-to-type plants.

Repot Nepeta X every 2-3 years, or when it becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one. Repotting is best done in early spring before new growth begins.
