Water moderately when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering significantly during the dormant period in summer and winter to prevent bulb rot.

Ensure good drainage to avoid waterlogged conditions, which are detrimental to this plant.

Remove spent flower stalks after blooming to encourage the plant to direct energy into bulb development rather than seed production. Trim away any yellowing or dead foliage once the leaves have naturally withered in late spring or early summer.

Propagate by offsets (bulblets) that form around the parent bulb. Carefully separate the offsets during repotting in late summer or early autumn. Plant them in well-draining soil, and they should establish within a year.
