Roman Nettle prefers consistently moist soil, especially during its active growth period. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly during dormant periods, but never allow the soil to dry out completely.

Pruning is primarily for managing size and shape, and for harvesting. Pinch back growing tips to encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or diseased stems promptly.

Harvest young leaves regularly to stimulate new growth and prevent the plant from becoming overly leggy.

Propagation is easily achieved through seeds sown directly into the garden in spring after the last frost, or indoors a few weeks prior. Cuttings taken from healthy stems in late spring or early summer can also be rooted in moist potting mix.

Repotting is typically only necessary if the plant becomes root-bound, which is rare for this species as it often self-seeds. If repotting is required, do so in spring before new growth begins.

Use a well-draining potting mix and choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one.
