Water moderately during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter, providing just enough to keep the soil from completely drying out.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, especially in potted plants.

Prune lightly after flowering to encourage bushier growth and prevent the plant from becoming leggy. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing stems at any time. Pinch back young plants to promote a more compact form.

Heavy pruning is generally not required.

Easily propagated from seeds sown in spring or early summer, either directly outdoors or started indoors a few weeks prior. Cuttings can also be taken from softwood in late spring or semi-hardwood in mid-summer and rooted in moist, well-draining soil or a seed-starting mix.

Repot young plants annually or every other year in early spring before new growth begins. Mature plants can remain in their pots for several years.
