Water moderately when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy to prevent waterlogged conditions.

Prune to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged foliage. Pinch back stems to encourage bushier growth. Remove spent flower stalks to prevent self-seeding if not desired.

Light pruning can be done anytime, but heavier pruning is best in early spring.

Propagate by stem cuttings or leaf cuttings. Take cuttings in spring or early summer. Allow cuttings to callous for a day or two before planting in well-draining potting mix. Roots should form within a few weeks.

Division of clumps is also an effective method.

Repot young plants annually or every two years, and mature plants less frequently, typically in spring before new growth begins. Choose a pot with drainage holes and use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix.

Ensure the new pot is only slightly larger than the current root ball.
