Water generously during the active growing season (spring and summer), keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Reduce watering significantly in autumn and winter as the plant enters dormancy, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent corm rot.

Remove spent flower spikes promptly after blooming to encourage further flowering and prevent the plant from expending energy on seed production. Cut back faded foliage in late autumn or early winter, after it has yellowed and died back naturally, to maintain a tidy appearance and prevent disease.

Propagate Watsonia bella by separating cormlets from the parent corms during the dormant season (late autumn to early spring). Replant the cormlets in well-draining soil and provide light moisture.

Seed propagation is also possible but takes longer to reach flowering size.

Repot Watsonia bella every 2-3 years, ideally in early spring before new growth begins. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot that allows ample space for corm development.

Ensure the new pot is not significantly larger than the previous one to avoid waterlogging.
