Prune Zebra Grass in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Cut back all foliage to about 15-20 cm above the ground. This annual pruning encourages vigorous new growth and maintains a tidy appearance.

Avoid pruning in autumn, as the dried foliage provides winter interest and some protection for the crown.

Miscanthus sinensis is primarily propagated by division in spring or early summer. Dig up mature clumps and divide them into smaller sections, ensuring each section has healthy roots and several shoots.

Replant the divisions immediately at the same depth. Seed propagation is also possible but may not produce plants true to the parent cultivar.

Repotting is not typically applicable for Miscanthus sinensis as it is a large perennial grass usually grown in the ground.

If grown in a very large container, it may require division and replanting into fresh soil every few years when it becomes root-bound or shows reduced vigor.
